I came across this video from the BBC Folk Awards 2012 featuring the marvellous Unthanks playing with the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band telling the story of a little man from a poor working class area of Derby who bred the world's first celebrity racing pigeon - The King of Rome. It's an unlikely subject for a song I know but it is without doubt one of the most uplifting songs I have heard with such a strong narrative tale that - with hope and vision - anything is possible. It's seven minutes long - so if you need some inspiration...give it a view. The quality is excellent.
